DARPA(Defense Advance Research Projects Agency) said the following: "Our best robotic tools are helping, but they are not yet robust enough to function in all environments and perform the basic tasks needed to mitigate a crisis situation. Even in degraded post-disaster situations, the environment is scaled to the human world, requiring navigation of human obstacles such as doors and stairs, manipulating human objects such as vehicles and power tools, and recognition of common human objects such as lever and valves"
DARPA gave Boston Dynamics a 10.9 million dollar contract to manufacture these humanoid robots that are bi pedal and are built like us and have a sensor head that has on-board computer capabilities.
This is expected to be completed by 2014.
This is part of the Elite's vision to have robots hunt us humans down like a "pack of dogs" and it seems it is becoming real.
