Carney's appointment actually came as a shock to many who thought current BoE deputy governor Paul Tucker was going to get the nod but infowars.com reported this back in April that Carney was going to headhunt for this position.
Carney worked for Goldman Sachs for 13 years and was involved in the 1998 Russian economic crisis which was exacerbated by Goldman giving Russia some advisement while at the same time they were betting against the countrie's ability to pay its debt.
