Article highlights potential problems a la Fukushima when the earthquakes hit Japan last year..
http://www.infowars.com/panic-buying-grips-the-east-coast-mad-rush-for-supplies-ahead-of-mega-storm/ While people are still making preparations ahead of sandy and the potential severity in the Northeast US. It is not stopping people in these areas going to grocery stores and hardware stores and what have you and over 99% of Americans are ill prepared for a disaster.
This storm should be a lesson for all of us to prepare in advance for any sort of natural weather disaster like having extra food and water on hand(example back in 1996 Thunder Bay(where I live) had a huge snowstorm that shut the city down for I think it was 3 days and we were lucky we had enough food to get us through it), backup power if you can afford it and etc..
this storm is expected to affect Canada as well I hear southern Ontario could get 90 km an hour winds and even could be a snow maker as well and a report from the Weather Network is saying that the Environment Canada weather office has issued wind warnings for all the southwest including the shores of Lake Ontario. The Storm has already cancelled flights out of Pearson Airport
Timmins and Gogama could get 10cm of snow from this system
given all of this is another reason storable food is a good idea..
But I hope everyone stays safe
