Boston Dynamics was contracted by the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency(DARPA), the very agency responsible for developing such technology being used by the military, in a deal that is worth over 10.9 million dollars. This was announced yesterday by the Department of Defense and has said the humanoid robots will consist of "two legs, a torso, 2 arms with hands, a sensor head and on board computing" and DARPA said on their website that these will "conduct humanitarian, disaster relief and related operations" and also they say it will help with giving aid to victims of natural or man caused disasters and conduct evacuation operations... (the article even has videos of what these things actually look like) and these are expected to be complete by August 9 2014 and DARPA has said the robots will have "supervised autonomy" and will be able to basically make their own decisions.. But the article points some experts have raised concerns that this type of technology could be used for crowd control and be adapted to hunt down peaceful protesters with "paralyzing weapons" or even have weapons be attached to them according to Paul Marks of the New Scientist even another expert Noel Sharkey, who is the professor of Artificial Intelligence and Robotics at the University of Sheffield, has warned before on the Alex Jones Show that the "world may be sleepwalking into a potentially lethal technocracy and has called for such safeguards on such technology to be put in place". In 2008, he told listeners of the show the following:
"If you have an autonomous robot then it's going to make decisions who to kill, when to kill and where to kill them. The scary thing is the reason this has to happen is because of mission complexity and also that when there's a problem with communications you can send a robot in with communication and it will decide who to kill, and that is really worrying to me" and he also warned that even law enforcement could use these as weapons in the future even saying South Korean officials are even planning on having this type of technology to use as law enforcement on their cities essentially..
And they want to use these for humanitarian purposes??? are you friggin kidding me??? given all the above, it is clear to me that is not their intentions at all... their intentions are to kill and using robots as police force to do it... they have lost their minds completely...
